Since I couldn't, I made a small donation to Free Republic for the first time in years. Pretty much thought I had done my duty to FR over the years with VetsCor and earlier events. Still, you folks are fighting the fight that I did many years ago and I can't just can't stand by. Hope it helps in some small way.

the United States today is a beacon of freedom throughout the whole world and our taxpayer funds are used to help everyone in the world and have been doing so for a long time.
The legal immigrants that came to the U.S. did so BECAUSE we have a system that affords the opportunity to anyone who is willing to obey our laws, work hard and put forth the effort. It is NOT designed for the slacker, the lazy, the immoral or the ungodly. Expecting those who worked hard for what they have achieved to pay out the nose to support those who storm our borders, ignore our laws and take, take, take, is foolish. We cannot support all the needy citizens we already have, where is the money to come from for those that stream in illegally? Obama is largely responsible for this latest surge but, until Congress gets off its collective butt, the problem, I fear, is only beginning.

Initially my reaction to the video was that the Patriots should not have been shouting at the illegal-sympathizers, thinking that it only takes the Patriots down to the level of the sympathizers. However, during the video I heard one Patriot in a loud voice ask the question, “Can we afford it?” That profound question should be shouted from the rooftops!
