It's a bean counting thingy, really.

Climates change, so do regimes..

Updating the baseline will make us safer too, I am sure.

Not from UN creep, but...

I’m sure we’ll be getting the ipcc standard soon for the best temperature and humidity range allowable. As soon as they get the data from famed scientist algore. Hey al. Remind us again just what the “correct” temperature and humidity are. I seem to have forgotten.

If we keep having to adjust what “normal” is, then global warming — or global cooling — isn’t a problem, since it can only be a problem because it’s a disturbance form “normal.”

Fascists are always befuddled when people don’t just accept their propaganda and STFU.

It depends on what your definition of “is” is (replace with normal) This is hugh and series!

A copy of the Farmer’s Almanac is really rather inexpensive.

Why doesn’t someone determine which organization of the UN these climate change nuts work for, and then deduct from our UN dues the amount of the UN budget dedicated to this organization? Then let the remainder of the UN decide just exactly how important these nuts are to the UN

In related but unreported news, it has now been 3181 days (8.71 years) since the last major (Category 3 or higher) hurricane has made landfall in the United States. The length of this calm spell shatters the old record of 2231 days (6.11 years) set in 1906.

Since "Global Warming" predicts more and more hurricanes of greater and greater force, this record setting calm period is, you guessed it, proof of "Global Warming".

This is really just more evidence of how crazy/stupid this whole debate really is. Just the fact that they’re using a 30-year average at all is ridiculous. The instrumentation to measure global temperatures accurately barely existed in the early 60’s (coverage issues, more than accuracy issues). Further, the period of ANY records of weather/climate history is barely 2,000 to 3,000 years: a small-fraction of our planet’s history. They infer the rest from scientific “tests”, where they’re loathe to share the data or methodologies.

This kind of admission demonstrates the futility of debating the climate alarmists, as their goal of controlling the setting on some master planet-Earth thermostat will never be realized. They literally get alarmed by any departure from the “norms” of the 1961-1990 period. The fact is there was nothing normal about it, when considering the long history of Earth, where the only constant HAS been change.

*”For water resources, agriculture and energy, the old averages no longer reflect the current realities,”*

You have to take a lot of LSD to believe that the Climate Alarmists spend any time in reality.

It is interesting that people aren't using a more recent baseline, say 1981 - 2010, regardless of how much Global Warming (TM) there has actually been.
