Eric Cantor seeks help to repay donors

Eric Cantor’s stunning primary defeat is leaving his campaign in a financial bind.

The Virginia Republican’s political operation has asked his House GOP colleagues to cut checks so he can refund his donors.

Cantor spent funds meant for the general election during his unsuccessful primary campaign battle against fellow Republican Dave Brat. Since he lost and has no general election in November, federal law mandates that Cantor must return those general-election contributions to the donors.

Several lawmakers and GOP aides said Cantor needs to raise upwards of $150,000 to refund his donors, and possibly far more.

Doug Heye, Cantor’s deputy chief of staff, confirmed that campaign aides have solicited GOP lawmakers for donations since his June 10 defeat. Cantor himself has not asked colleagues for money.

The development marks a dramatic turn of events for Cantor, who has long been one of Washington’s top fundraisers. Cantor spent years traversing the country to raise money for himself, the Republican Party and other GOP candidates now has to raise money from his colleagues to repay donors.

Cantor was not only generous with his time, but also was free with his campaign money. He frequently cut checks for candidates, and hosted dinners for lawmakers at restaurants all over Washington.

The forced refund, in part, explains why he stole the $400,000 from Brat immediately following the primary.

Let his criminal illegal aliens help him, as he wanted.

Repay donors?

I’ll bet they’re after him. Someone has to pay for the Guatemalan kids, the new slave labor force.

Here's what happens when Repubs stupidly consort w/ the Prince.

34 points ahead in the polls----dumped by the voters.
Ex-majority Leader Eric Cantor and friend.

A REFRESHER COURSE IN LOSING Cantor in 2013: "One of the great founding principles of our country was that children would not be punished for the mistakes of their parents. It is time to provide an opportunity for legal residence and citizenship for those who were brought to this country as children and who know no other home."

B/c no one believed that Constitutional fable, Cantor doubled down---he later offered a new explanation for why he supports granting amnesty to individuals brought into the country illegally as minors. It's “Biblical,” he said in a local radio interview.

That "revelation" offed the sucker but good. So much for Cantor's gulling the voters---endorsing a measure intended to dismantle US ntl security.

=================================================

Cantor stupidly believed the rest of us just fell of turnip truck---that we know nothing about the Dream Act except what he makes up.

THE FACTS ARE THESE---The Senate amnesty bill is dangerously flawed, and its glaring omissions WRT protecting US ntl security, cannot ever serve as the basis for useful legislation.

By legalizing illegal aliens w/out shoring up law enforcement, we hand an engraved invitation to global Third Worlders----all of 'em salivating to ride the US gravy train.....each separatist group conniving to achieve its hidden agenda.

Amnesty recklessly opens the door wide for illiterate, low-skilled aliens, born and bred in savage cultures, here to suck up US benefits and take jobs away from Americans.

Third Worlders may, in fact, contribute their labor to the US, but their loyalties are elsewhere----they have no intention of becoming Americanized....of participating as equals in American culture, revering our vast history, or preserving American values.

The Senate amnesty bill is a blueprint----it amply demonstrates that illegal separatist populations intend to usurp the US political system to advance their own hidden agenda.

================================================

The Senate "Amnesty" bill includes two “slush funds” amounting to $150 MILLION annually, replenish-able with eternal tax dollars for years to come....... earmarked for groups like the blood-thirsty La Raza.

Boy, just another lawbreaker in Congress who wants to inflict more lawbreakers on the honest few Americans on the right.

Bites you in the butt sooner or later Eric. You should chalk this to a lesson in life.

Sounds like a crime to me.

Cantor's donors can't be too disappointed.

Kevin McCarthy, the man who will replace Cantor as Majority Leader, has a “F-minus” immigration grade from Numbers USA.

There should be a law against that! Once in office they spend 2/3 of their time fundraising!...and eating steak on donor money!

Disappointed? I don’t know. But they’re not letting him off the hook on debt and they’re done with him

I just wish someone would find some real dirt on this slimeball and force him to resign.

Hey Eric, they are called “donors” for a reason — not lenders.

You repay lenders not donors.

Is there something you are not telling us???

Heck, I’m almost tempted to send him money - just for being SO STUPID as to lose to Brat and thereby kill Amnesty for at least 2014, and probably longer.

I almost think we should reward him for the favor he did for the country.

Yes I wondered that too. How can you spend money set aside for the general election on another campaign, legally speaking?

Perhaps, but he still needs 218 votes to pass Amnesty, and thanks to Cantor’s defeat, it will be a LONG TIME before he can find enough idiot Republicans (willing to lose their seats over Amnesty) to reach that number.
