Radioactive material stolen in Mexico: officials
Mexico City (AFP) - The Mexican government warned Friday that a vehicle containing radioactive material has been stolen, and issued a dire warning to the thieves against taking the potentially deadly material from its protective container.
Federal civil defense officials said the vehicle had been transporting deadly iridium-192, a radioactive substance used in making some industrial products.
The substance "can be dangerous for human health if removed from its container," the officials said in a statement, adding that the material can be lethal even if handled for only a brief time.
The theft in Mexico state prompted officials to issue an alert throughout the capital region and in neighboring states.

"They will carry it to every city
along with Swine fever, tuberculosis and Ebola".
Is this why Obama refuses to go to the border ?
I bet it ends up where that missing plane is.
If they used that material to kill tens of thousands of people in a US city, you think The One would finally be removed from office or are the Democraps and RINOs waiting from maybe a million deaths...and then maybe they would consider it?
It would be a shame if this material is in a powdered form and whoever stole it snorts a few lines of it... Tragic really...
Oh no. The illegal alien kids now have the bomb!
Yeah, I think it’d take a couple million...SAD
The goalpost was set at 25,000,000. But that was 40 years ago.
Iridium-192 is a radioactive isotope of iridium, with a half-life of 73.83 days from the time of manufacture. It decays through emitting beta and gamma radiation. It is a strong gamma ray emitter, commonly used as a gamma ray source in industrial radiography to locate flaws in metal components.
Iridium-192 has accounted for the majority of cases tracked by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission in which radioactive materials have gone missing in quantities large enough to make a dirty bomb.
Last December, thieves stole a cargo truck containing highly radioactive cobalt-60, apparently unaware of the deadly cargo within the vehicle. Authorities ultimately arrested several suspects in that case after recovering the lethal material. The imbeciles had removed the nuclear material from its protective lead casing, but fortunately had not damaged the interior casing. No word if they experienced radiation poisoning.
And Issi would set up a committee.
And Boehner would say he's going to sue them.
And Rick Perry would say the border is out of control, for sure.
And Cornyn's crowd would get the perps to fund his campaign.
And RINO elitists would blame the "racist tea party", so vote RINO
(when did I get so disenchanted?)
You know, at 54 I’m FINALLY realizing that I just might DIE one day.
Having survived an Army Career, I’d LIKE to think that it won’t be at the hands of terrorists - aided by MY OWN GOVERNMENT!
We’re So Screwed. On all fronts!
Coming soon to a water supply near you.
The perps will be caught tonight when they glow in the dark.
That’s exactly what it is, we got the damn enemy running the country and Democraps and RINOs just sit on their hands. They are the real sc*mbags in all this. They know damn well this guy is a huge danger to the country, yet they won’t even think about impeachment.
Dr Banner, pelted by gamma rays, turned into the Incredible Hulk!
Ain’t he unglamorous!!
“If they used that material to kill tens of thousands of people in a US city, you think The One would finally be removed from office...”
No. It would just make more room for the “Unaccompanied” childrens. It’s probably part of the overall plan.
But, what the hell, let’s go to another fund razer (yea. spelled that way intentionally).
What will it take to shut down all incoming traffic from Mexico? Legal and otherwise?
Until a few issues --- besides this one --- are resolved?
Even if only for 24-48 hours?
It would send a truly serious message.
Is it really necessary to list all the issues?
On the 4th of July??
