In Texas, it is generally illegal to carry a handgun outside of a person’s own premises. However, a person may carry, either open or concealed, in a non-threatening or alarming manner, a shotgun or rifle.

Thanks. I already knew the answer. I just wanted to see if there was something I was missing or if there had been a change in the existing law. I personally carry a pistol gripped 12g Mossberg pump most every place I go in my truck and sometimes on my highway bike strapped to my sissy bar. Never had any problems even when I was pulled over and given a warning for driving 10mph over the speed limit by DPS on my bike.
