This touches on one of my main gripes with the global warming alarmists: It is simply not true that all effects of global warming would be bad, and many of them might be good. Seriously, would they be happy - would we be better off - if we were facing significant global cooling? What if ice was expanding into former temperate zones, destroying crops? What if we had to spend 25% more to stay warm in the winter? What if the growing season shrunk by 20 days? What if major freezes destroyed tens of thousands of acres of crops every year?
