Erdogan’s government has allowed ISIS fighters to train in Turkey and cross the border between Turkey and Syria at will to participate in the fighting. Moreover, according to Pipes, Turkey “provided the bulk of ISIS’s funds, logistics, training and arms.”

I doubt it's Turkey doing the 'providing;' it's probably the US with Turkey laundering the money.

I suspect you’re right. I suspect a more likely scenario will be an empowered Kurdistan, supported by unlikely allies Turkey and Israel. Give Obama something, leading from behind does create unlikely allies. Perhaps the Saudis and Israel vs Iran as well. Of course none of it accrues to America’s benefit.
