Popular entertainment appeals to so many people because we are bombarded by it every second of every minute.

If, say, we were given something akin to the 1976 “Bicentennial minute” which was broadcast everyday in 1976 leading up to the 4th of July, that might be a tiny tidbit of information that would help.

The main problem is that History and Civics can be boring and tedious if not presented in an exciting way. This task has only gotten more difficult with the digital and Smart phone age. It's no wonder with the changing demographics of the US population, that so many people now say, “What do I care what a bunch of dead-old white men said and did”?
America rode the wave of the Enlightenment for 200 years. Now we are sinking back into the Dark Ages which will suit the Islamic Fascists just fine because with all their goats and no running water, the new Dark Ages and illiteracy will make them feel like home, in the hut. Either we fight it or eat couscous with our hands along with the Muslim Marauders...

The Anti-Federalists stressed that a Bill of Rights was not only a sheet anchor for a free citizenry to grasp, it was also an educational tool. Children brought up on the tenets of republican freedom would, as adults be sensitive to any infringement.
