Speaker John Boehner said Tuesday that he has appointed a working group of House Republicans tasked to respond to the border crisis involving the surge of unaccompanied minors trying to enter the United States illegally. (SNIP) Members of the working group include Republican Reps. John Carter of Texas, Mario Diaz-Balart of Florida, Bob Goodlatte of Virginia, Kay Granger of Texas, Michael McCaul of Texas, Steve Pearce of New Mexico and Matt Salmon of Arizona. Granger chairs the subcommittee that oversees funding for the State Department and foreign operations.

I had this probably deranged fantasy recently that maybe the Republicans are laying low until the 2014 elections to see what the results are and if they would also control the Senate. And that, if they then have both houses, they’ll finally stand up to Obama.
How fantasy land is thinking like this?
I’d say put down the bong.
With Boehner on it?
Definitely Blue Ribbon.
I would have formed if from Greyhound bus drivers. They’d know what to do.
I’m so pissed off about EVERYTHING that I’m ready to revolt. But most people seem ready to shut up and shuffle along into the sunset.
I don’y get it. I never thought that America would go down without a fight.
Congress, by that I mean the people in it, know that the Ponzi schemes they have created, Social Security being one of them, requires more bodies to push-off collapse. That’s the real but hidden reason both parties are pushing amnesty and open borders.
Yeah, but since when do the people coming into the country these days, legally and illegally actually become taxpayers?
Meg Ryan, when she ran for Governor of California, had this line that the state had like 13% of the nation’s population and something like 35% of its welfare recipients. And I’m pretty sure that CA has the highest percentage of immigrants in its population. So it would sure seem to me that that immigration ain’t working too well.
“By all means, lets have a committee.”
Well you have to do something to present a false front
of opposition. Establishing a committee makes it look
like they are trying to do something about it. In the
past 6 years, where has a republican committee done
anything to stop what Obama is doing? It’s just a show
and nothing more.
We’re are up to our waist in wetbacks now, soon we will
be over our heads. Learn Mexican border lingo quick because
that’s going to be the national language soon.
“TX, NM, AZ need to make a stand.”
And when they do, Obama will be there to put a boot on
it. Either with the courts or the military. And I would
say with the consent of a few republicans too, no doubt.
PING
Boehner is playing politics again, this time for his next run at the Speakership. God help us if he wins again.
You know I don’t even get excited or hopeful when I see headlines like this one. Sure enough it’s chucked full of names I never heard of, which translates to not anyone on our side, that these people, “ain’t it”. Amnesty lovers all of them, disguised as “immigration reform”.
You said it. On every point. However, even WE are not in the streets, not a force, not a threat, therefore not a chance.
Clearly we are *not* the stuff of our fathers and grandfathers.
I don’t get it either. We used to be a country full of self reliant hard working people. Now everyone just rolls over and eats the shitt sammich they are served.
I have to hope that how Cochran won in MS (getting Dems to vote for him and accusing the Tea Party of racism) is not gonna go down well.
And so raise the level of pissed offedness a whole bunch.
This is a serious issue. I suggest two committees.
