Explosion targeted a security checkpoint south of Beirut

According to the correspondent of "Arab" in Lebanon, an explosion targeted a security checkpoint army south of Beirut, and the explosion occurred near the Shatila roundabout south of the capital Beirut. Published pictures showed local media fire and smoke rising in the sky, and spoke to Lebanese media about 40 injured in the bombing. The reporter said "Arab" The preliminary information indicates the use of a car bomb in the bombing, amid reports of deaths and injuries.

AP — A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-packed vehicle near a checkpoint and a cafe in a neighborhood south of Lebanon’s capital early Tuesday, causing several casualties, a Lebanese security official and witnesses said.
The explosion occurred just after midnight near the Abu Assaf cafe, where people had gathered to watch World Cup matches. An Associated Press reporter on the scene said he saw at least two wounded people. The state-run National News Agency said 12 people were wounded.
