President Barack Obama on Tuesday asked congressional leaders to meet with him Wednesday as he considers his options in Iraq.
Administration officials tell us the president will make the case for sending a limited number of special forces troops to Iraq.
The president had insisted he did not want to put boots on the ground in the newly flaring conflict but now believes special forces are necessary to develop better intelligence on the Sunni insurgents should airstrikes be ordered.

Folks the ISIS folks are bad news and with more than a billion dollars they sure as hell can create terrorism in the USA. I have no use for peace in our time bath house Barack.
That being said we need to start killing these ISIS folks as effectively and surely as possible. I spent 6 years in the middle-eat and not with the “peace corp”. I know first hand what we are facing. This is Al Qaeda on steroids. They will NOT be satisfied with a Caliphate in the Levant. They will come to Europe, the US and perhaps other locales. because we must either convert, pay the tax and or die. That is it.

Whether the Iraqi end up with a 3 state solution or what, is not as important as total as possible destruction of ISIS members.
We need some assets there and frankly our Spec ops people never left completely. I respect these warriors and they will do what needs to be done. Thats the game and the job.
We must remember that Maliki rejected the status of forces agreement, and it was because we would not agree to have our troops remaining there be subject to the Iraq justice system. What would you have done??

Most likely they’re going in to be liaisons for Iraqi spotters. They’ll then order up air strikes for the Iraqi-identified targets. IMO there’s no need for them to leave the Embassy compound and I doubt they would.
