Moms Demand Action From Illegal Mayors in Everytown cult leader Shannon Watts claims that a good guy with a gun has never stopped a bad guy with a gun.
Heres just the latest example of her being dead wrong.
It was about 11pm Monday when a 17 year old girl who lives in the home was getting something from her car. Two men, both with guns, grabbed her. The began to push her back into the home with a gun to her head. Her father, who says he was visiting the girl and her mother, saw the gunmen and pulled his own weapon. He says he had no choice but to fire.
He was holding her hostage. She was a human shield. So I did what I had to do.
Asked how he had the confidence to pull the trigger when the man was holding his daughter that way, he said, It wasnt like that. It just happened. I didnt have no choice. He had my daughter so I did what I had to do.
The father asked that we not use his name.
The man he shot and killed was Terrell Johnson, 31, of St. Louis. The second suspect, who the father says was wearing a mask, is Cortez McClinton, 33, also of St. Louis.
Im still trying to come to grips with this gentlemans deliberate coolness in the worst of all nightmare scenarios for a father.
Not only did he rise to the challenge against a convicted armed robber (Johnson) and a suspected murderer (McClinton), he managed to kill one of them outright and put multiple shots into the other while they were holding his daughter. He somehow safely shot around his daughter and never touched her, and only missed connecting with one shot.
Despite the position that these men put his family in, the father displayed incredible compassion for the families of the criminals.
He also said he was sorry for what the families of the two suspects are going through, but he says he had no choice.
My condolences goes out to all the families involved. I dont know him. I wish it hadnt happened. So like I said, to the moms, fathers, all the other people involved, I apologize, he said.
The surviving suspect, McClinton, will likely face murder chargers in his partners death (thanks to the felony murder rule), and witnesses have been asked to come forward again for the previous murder in which he was a suspect.
The father will not be charged as the shooting was clearly self-defense.
When da famblies comes after hiz @zz wid dem wrongful deff lawsuits, he’ll have some cover as to intent.
A very brave father.
Are charges pending against him?
bkmk
Actually, in MO, a lawful self defense ruling eliminates suits arising from the action. Absolute defense against both criminal and civil suit.
I like MO for that, among other things.
Resident of Mo since 2002.
