Flashback: “Republican” Senator Lindsey Graham Comes Out In Favor Of Cap And Trade

With Democrats holding a stiff majority in the House and the Senate, and with Obama chomping at the bit to sign some major bill into law to stave off criticism about a lack of accomplishment (though, personally, I’d be happy if we went on vacation for the next 3 years), we need every single Republican and Democrat vote against cap and trade we can find.

Unfortunately, one Republican will be siding with the liberals on this issue. “

A top Senate Republican on Sunday announced his support for sweeping climate change legislation, disputing the “conventional wisdom” that says Congress simply cannot tackle the issue this year. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., co-authored an op-ed with Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., in The New York Times calling for action on legislation.

Kerry rolled out a Senate climate change bill alongside Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., late last month. A Graham aide said Sunday that the South Carolina Republican was not explicitly endorsing that bill, but stands ready to work with Kerry toward some version of legislation to combat global warming.

Kerry and his fellow liberals are trying to claim that this isn’t really cap and trade. But it is. That Graham would support this burdensome, completely unnecessary expansion of government power and regulation is exactly why he shouldn’t be in office.

In fact, Graham and his actions here illustrate exactly why it’s not ok to just vote for Republicans as the lesser of two evils. Better to have a Democrat in office who is honest about their desire to expand government than some fake conservative who quotes Reagan at you one minute then turns around and tries to justify massive expansions of government to you the next.

A recurrent problem with politicians is that they are often too arrogant to know what they don’t know.

This contributes to the ‘we know better what’s in your best interest’ b.s., and established politicos of either party demonstrate the same characteristic.

BTW, I would like to thank those posting all these “Lindsey Graham flashbacks” I am seeing. Good Lord I hope the voters in SC see some of these before the Primary. KEEP GETTING THE WORD OUT!!

My brother lives in SC and is doing his part. He says, anecdotally, the biggest problem he sees isn’t that people are in love with Graham, but there is a feeling that nothing is coalescing around anyone else. Hopefully, if we can force a runoff, that will change.

We are more motivated than the GOPe by leaps and bounds.

Go get em SC!!!!!
