Nobody stood up for the smokers, and that was just the test case. Now, they’re going to do the same thing to soda, snacks and chips, and fast food.
Probably put in place a carb tax, or something similar, and put restrictions on who can buy those products, just like tobacco. You probably won’t be buying a lot of soda when it hits $10.00 a 20oz bottle, assuming that they tax it at the same rate as tobacco.

Smokers weren’t first. Just ask the DEA.

This is the paradigm we’ve all agreed to: If something can be shown to be “bad enough” for you, then the Government can step in, either with taxes, regulation, or outright Prohibition. Again, this is what we all agree is the Government’s role.

It’s like the old joke: We already know what we are, now we’re just haggling over the details.
