The best diet includes no sugar, no grains, no processed foods. The problem is Americans on average consume 145 lbs of sugar a year.

but we don't need laws. We need to educate people on nutrition and health

I agree with you. I know my life is so much better without sugar. My children eat real food, a lot of it from our own back yard. I don’t need Big Gov telling me what to eat.

The issue I have is with those who take my money via various social programs. I should be able to tell them what to eat, especially when the issue is compounded by me paying for their healthcare.

Yes, indeed. It's pitiful to stroll through a mall nowadays and see so many fat people trying to waddle around. Most of these people are miserable, but so ignorant that they don't realize that they don't have to eat like pigs, that they can exercise and that they can have normal bodies. And, their horrible habits are reinforced by folks (usually other ignorant fat people) who tell them that they don't deserve better and that there isn't anything they can do to escape their misery.

Take care of yourselves, folks. Nobody else can do it for you. You don't have to look like a pig. Don't listen to those who tell you that it's okay to be a pig.
