A Taliban commander close to the negotiations over the release of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl told TIME Thursday that the deal made to secure Bergdahl’s release has made it more appealing for fighters to capture American soldiers and other high-value targets.
“It’s better to kidnap one person like Bergdahl than kidnapping hundreds of useless people,” the commander said, speaking by telephone on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the media. “It has encouraged our people. Now everybody will work hard to capture such an important bird.”

The President defended his decision to swap five terrorists from Guantanamo Bay to free Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. But he also acknowledged that the Taliban fighters could once again engage in efforts that are detrimental to U.S. security.

Obama has demonstrated he will use any excuse to give away high value detainees, just to meet his promise of shutting down guantanamo for his brethren’s world. He will do anything to weaken and diminish American might. “Hey! Brethren! Do you want a ship load of volts to go with the next release? I HAVE to empty Guantanamo!!! Everyone has to go!!!”
They view it as a victory in their extortion, he sees it as an excuse to inject more terror into the west.

If there’s any doubt that Hussein’s objective all along is to get Americans killed....... The 5 guys released will kill Americans, their will be more Americans kidnapped, they outed the CIA agent, leaving 9,000 soldiers as sitting ducks in Afghanistan, delivering the SEALs into Taliban hands, The thwarted hit on the Bundys. Heck, Begdhal might end up killing some Americans. What am I missing?
FoxNews showed a poll this morning that 84% believe the release of the 5 Taliban generals would lead to increased terrorism.
What is mind-boggling is to listen to Obamabots try to justify the exchange. Last evening Mark Levin played clips of State Dept spokesperson Marie Harf stumble around words to create an excuse. She had no real information (apparently) and concluded by telling the reporter to Google for information.
Did Team Obama know anything about the events surrounding Bergdahl’s leaving the base? Even at the time, per many reports, there were questions about whether he deserted or was captured. Recently, we learn that he left a note. That would seem to indicate he left, rather than he was captured. What did Obama know and when did he know it?
HClinton is jumping around all sides of this, trying to find the most viable political position. Her finger-in-the-air position keeps ‘evolving’.
