My question is why does the school board feel it is their responsibility to deal with teen pregnancy. This is a FAMILY matter, not a school matter. Just because a school is impacted does not mean it must take an active role.
This is a fundamental problem and the public are allowing it to happen. American families are abdicating their responsibilities to the schools.
Now, the schools are day-care centers with their "alternative schools". This was done so parents are not made to feel responsible for the actions of their spawn.

American families are abdicating their responsibilities to the schools. Needs more words, in a real America, they have no "responsibilities to the schools".

USA schools get Fed money for daily attendance.
Knocked up—don’t go to school—no Fed money.

Very good points and I agree with them 100% Our “society” view now is we are a made up a bunch of individual not responsible for anything living arrangements. What used to be called a family is now a “unit”. This is to accomodate the single parenting and fag life styles.
The pre school, breakfast lunch dinner at school, no moral authority for anything, everyone gets an A, no demerits approach to schooling on top of the various programs set out to support single parenthood foster this and keep it going. I cannot believe how far the moral/ethical standards our society has fallen in just 40 or so years. The additional problem is the pace in the race to the bottom has increased.
