American Crossroads, a GOP establishment organization, has decided to shift its political focus almost entirely to the general election and will not be spending money in the likely runoff election to decide the Mississippi Senate nomination that was virtually deadlocked after Tuesday night.
Founded by Karl Rove and other Republican strategists, Crossroads and its non-profit affiliate, Crossroads GPS, had not played an active role in supporting GOP Sen. Thad Cochrans bid to thwart a primary challenge from state Sen. Chris McDaniel, but the group had been working behind the scenes to boost other pro-Cochran super PACs. "Other than Alaska, we have completed our work on Senate primaries this cycle and are now focused on general elections. With the Chamber, the NRSC, and a local super PAC already backing Cochran, this is not our fight, Paul Lindsay, spokesman for Crossroads, said in a statement.

What can this mean?
Can’t blame Rove. He is still in the hospital after the pistol whipping
The Texas Tea Party gave him.
Game over for Cockran. Hopefully he will SHOW SOME CLASS and not put Mississippi through the same nightmare that party-boy Dewhurst put Texas through...just to get trounced in his runoff anyway.
That would be a shock of unbelievable dimensions.
Politically savvy operators, and even Cochran himself, had to realize it was up to Cochran to win outright last night, or it was over for him. He didn’t manage that last night and is now scheduled to be in a runoff the odds of which he can win are slim to none. I’d rather hope he’d call it quits, avoid the runoff and let some new blood take over. (hope springs eternal!)
Rove doesn’t want to be stuck with a loss on his resume for 2016 gig. A tie looks better than a loss.
But the Chamber of Amnesty will continue bankrolling Cochran. Tells you everything you need to know about Cochran.
Although it is too bad Rove won’t blow any more of his cash on a sure loser.
Also factoring in this would be viewed as Rove vs Palin...
Mississippi ping
Yeah you’d think the old coot would do the right thing and concede instead of being a jerk about it. Hell, he didn’t even show up to meet with his supporters today... That speaks volumes, basically giving the middle finger to everyone.
He could always give some noble excuse perhaps about how much money it was going to take our of the Mississippi coffers which he thinks could certainly be put to better use. Or the old standby that he needs to be spending time with his wife.
Hell, he didnt even show up to meet with his supporters today
To be fair to Cochran, he might not even realize there was an election yesterday. He did, after all, have a *serious* senior moment earlier today:

This the GOP-e considers the most qualified man for the job? LMAO!
Seems like his staff is hiding him, for the example you just posted.
Explains why he won’t debate. Why he won’t meet face to face with media
for a question and answer session, why he did not show up at his election
rally, etc.
Did you read his senate aides tweeted how wonderful it was forvBowe to be released and then they deleted it!
Who but a left wing DC nutter Senate aide would post that.
That was a Dem talking point !
Literally Thad's senate aides posted a WH talking point.
Hell, he might not even be cognizant of the fact he’s a Senator anymore!
Something is not right with him.
It means Rove knows the worm has turned. He publicly goes all in for Cochran he is going against the tide of history and he will be left by the side of the road.
