Economy on solid ground despite cooler hiring
Rooters ^ | June 4, 2014 | BY LUCIA MUTIKANI

Call Roto-Rooters, that's the name, and flush credibility down the drain.

Prices are rising across the board, the only increase in jobs, what few there are, are for the most part seasonal summer jobs which are low paying part time short term. Yup everything is as rosy as can be!

Slower hiring, negative growth, prices skyrocketing, healthcare going up. Gas is high.

We’re in an historic boom time, according to the Obama-stenographers.

"That is good news Nurse. What changed?"

As in part time jobs saying "Would you like fries with that?"

I bought groceries today.

Milk last month: $3.70 Today $4.29 per gallon same brand.

Butter last month: $3.23 Today $3.98

Ends & pieces of bacon- last month: $5.29 Today: $7.98 for same package, same brand.

Ice cream & frozen yogurt & sherbet containers no longer 1/2 gallon—only 3/4 of such size. Down a pint.

Cheap Bread up about 8%.

Toilet paper & paper towels up considerably, also.

Keeping within the Soc Sec budget is getting harder & harder.

I hear you, If I hadn’t got my mom to sell her house in Fallbrook, Ca. and got her to buy a unit in Leisure World closer to us She would be really hurting. Water on her old property was 150 to 200 a month, not counting everything else. Now her total monthly outlay for Assoc. fees, and utilities and food runs about 550, we just really worry when she slips into the damn Medicare donut hole, just one med will run 300 for a month.

Blue Bell Ice Cream still comes in true half-a-gallon containers and every now and then they have it on unannounced sale for $3.99 (normally $6.99). Happened on to it last week and bought a whole bunch. If you hit our local Dollar Tree at the right time they have brand name whole wheat bread for a $1.00 a loaf. Bought two loaves also last week. Lady waiting for me to get out of her way bought all the remaining loaves. Said she had lots of kids.

Never thought I’d see the day though that I would be excited to see bacon on special for $6.99 a package - and that’s not even a full pound.

Used to feed my family of four three meals a day for $100 a week. Now it’s hard to just feed myself for less than $50 a week and that doesn’t even include cleaning or laundry supplies which I buy on-line in bulk.
