The clash between the White House and Congress over the deal for Bowe Bergdahl intensified after Sen. Dianne Feinstein claimed she’s been kept in the dark since 2012.
On Tuesday, President Obama insisted that he had “consulted with Congress for quite some time” over the possibility of swapping Taliban detainees for American hostage Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. That’s news to Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, who said it’s been more than two years since she was consulted on the issue, adding that the exchange was greeted by the Senate Intelligence Committee with “surprise and dismay.”
News of Bergdahl’s release this past weekend has stirred controversy in part because the Obama administration side-stepped a legal requirement to give Congress 30 days’ advance notice.
In late Nov. 2011, Feinstein was first briefed on the Obama administration’s proposal to trade five senior Taliban detainees at Guantanamo for Bergdahl, she told reporters Tuesday.
Alarmed at the prospect, Feinstein and her Republican vice-chairman Saxby Chambliss, wrote two classified letters expressing their views—in Dec. 2011 to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and to the president himself in Jan. 2012.
“Both letters registered concerns with the proposals, and opposed the transfers of the detainees to Qatar,” Feinstein said.
Feinstein and Chambliss say that Clinton responded in a letter on Feb. 13, 2012, acknowledging that a 30-day forewarning was necessary for any prisoner exchange and promising future consultation with Congress.
Feinstein said there was no additional consultation until mid-day Saturday, when one of her senior aides received a call from Deputy Director of National Intelligence Robert Cardillo.

Yep, I was thinking this is very serious politically for the president. When a senior Democrat such as Feinstein is speaking out, the Dems. are not automatically shilling for the president on this.
Di Fi is asking for a very public beatdown from the Obamas. Communists do not tolerate this kind of breaking of ranks.

And Dianne’s very good friend, Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, chose not to keep Ms. Feinstein in the loop when all this behind-the -scenes maneuvering to set up the Bergdahl-Taliban trade was going on?

I have no sympathy for any democrat. They have all done their parts propping up this liar and tyrant and they only give a crap now because they see their elections and party going down in flames because of him. my guess is, by next week this is old news... sad... the VA scandal is already come and gone...and the falsifying of those records in order to get bonuses, should be screamed from the rooftops as treason..

Dianne F. is a "smart," self-preserving, powerful politician in every sense of the word... she is as political as they come--but not in the same way as someone like Pelosi (who relishes in making waves)... Dianne might be feeling she has stepped back to let this clown Obama do his thing for just a little too long... if nothing else, she is a grown-up in their game... he is an immature, inexperienced, in-over-his-head empty suit... she must see that he is a sorry excuse of an executive... and remember--they all have egos... she has one, and how dare he keep her in the dark... of course, this may be all we hear of this, but i hope not!

Hillary needs a really good reason to split from Obama publically, and at the same time to keep the electors happy while she is doing so. The Left is helping her distance from Obama.
