“As part of Bergdahl’s release, the United States is turning over five Taliban detainees at the U.S. facility in Guantanamo”

Surrendering to the terrorists, this “president” should be impeached.

Posted this on the other thread.

The case of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, held by the Taliban since 2009, has arisen again as the U.S. and other countries engage in diplomatic efforts to free him.

But if he is released, will America’s only prisoner of the Afghan war be viewed as a hero or a deserter?

While tattered yellow ribbons still adorn utility poles in his native Hailey, Idaho, others are expressing conflicting thoughts about Bergdahl’s plight as the war winds down, with President Barack Obama threatening to withdraw all U.S. troops by year’s end unless the Afghan government signs a crucial security agreement.

They are convinced that on June 30, 2009, just a few months after he arrived in Afghanistan, Bergdahl willingly walked away from his unit, which was deployed in Paktika province in eastern Afghanistan, adjacent to the border with Pakistan. While they do want Bergdahl home, they think he should have to answer allegations that he deserted his unit.

This is a twofer for Obama. He helps resurrect his damaged image due to the VA scandal and he reduces the number of prisoners at Gitmo so he can close it eventually.

Follow them back to their hideout and then hellfire them into little pieces.

More then likely these former prisoners will be killed off either by their own or by our missiles. War is a constant with them.

Sounds to me that this Administration has let this guy remain in captivity for a long while, saving him until a time where they needed some good PR. Some time in this past week, a meeting was held in the White House to come up with ways to save the President's approval ratings. And in this meeting, someone stepped forward and said something like:

"Hey, we could always get the Taliban to release that prisoner they have been holding for the last five years. We were already planning on releasing five prisoners from Gitmo next month anyway. Give the Taliban a call and get them to agree to exchange Sergeant Whats-his-name for the Gitmo freedom fighters plus two or three million in cash. Just don't say anything to the press about the cash."

When the released terrorists return to jihad and murder again and again how will Obama justify the swap?

I'm sure the soldier and his family are happy to be reunited, but I'm not sure this was the best route.

Obama has made a deal with the devil, how many terrorist are still in Gitmo?

Obama just told the world their price.
