That's ignoring the most important peace-keeping factor, by far: the growing economy and the growing middle class. China today is like the US in the 50's... and it's the first time in any old Chinaman's memory that they've had a stable government for more than a generation. China likes to tell its people that once the economic reforms are finished, hen they'll move on to the social reforms. It's a lie they all believe, because prosperity is a very, very nice thing for them, for a change.
We had a communist government in the 1950s?
China’s promising social reforms? That’s a new one. Their constitution is quite clear about the obligation of its citizens to “build socialism”.
