This is interesting, that even in liberal California, a strong conservative may get enough support to move to the runoff election.

Moonbeam is a strong favorite for re-election. But it would be good to see a conservative to campaign and make the case for conservative principles. It may not pay off in 2014 in this election, but could pay off down the road.

I meant...on election day, are some ballots on paper or are all votes processed electronically from the precinct to final tally?

CA is probably trying to save money on elections, so they can give
that money to illegals on Welfare, food stamps etc.

The GOP elite is such a hoot. Being wiped out with the right candidate is better than soiling their prim, butt kissing image.

Well I am a Donnelly supporter. But no one gives the GOP much of a chance in our deep blue state which is now virtually one party in any event. Truth is none of our statewide candidates stand much of a chance.

Our last GOP gubernatorial candidate was billionaire former CEO of EBAY who spent over $140 million of her own money and wound up winning only about 41% of the vote in what turned out to be a very strong Republican year nationally in 2010.

I get a paper ballot and a stylus to darken my choices. I think they did away with punching out holes sometime after the 2000 presidential election-—did not want to deal with chads anymore after that.

Now, with new system. You can vote for anyone you choose on the ballot. You are not restricted to voting in one party primary. If a candidate wins 50%+1 he wins right then and there. If no candidates wins 50%, there is a runoff between the two top vote getters-—which could be two candidates of the same party in some races.

So very glad we emigrated from the "Golden State" 17 years ago.

The political parties in California are the various public employee unions. This state is owned and operated by them up to and including the governor.

Not an option for me. I’m married with a wife and child. Have a house and a mortgage and a steady job thankfully. My wife’s family all live here. My family is scattered around the country, but my dad lives here as well. So I’m pretty much immobile for the foreseeable future. Still like the great weather here, but the political and economic climate, the high taxes, the government unions, the hideous anti-business attitude, yes it is insufferable here.

will NEVER get 50% of the vote in a primary this FRIGGING train thing
is out of control, also the WATER situation regarding this DAMN SMELT
is destroying the agriculture and farming industry!!!! It is going to be interesting to see if CA. is starting to change their mindset in voting, hollyweird will ALWAYS be what it is but the regular folks here I think

I think Meg Whitman actually stood a chance, until GLORIA ALDRED
trotted out the NANNY, I often wonder what happened to the nanny after
being USED by the left to DESTROY Meg!!!! She WAS probably DEPORTED immediately with GLORIA telling her she was so sorry there
was NOTHING she could do to help her stay in the country!!!!!

LOL!
Well - I hope you are correct.
I remember saying similar words when I was in a Santa Clara County election area in 1992. 'There is NO WAY people in this county will vote for a draft-dodging, adulterous, sociopathic liar as the President of the United States!' .... One day later I read that 60% in this County had voted that way ... oh well.

I BELIEVE with my ENTIRE heart and soul that the election of 2012 was
STOLEN from us VOTER FRAUD!!!! The jumping up and down over voter
ID laws, and ALL of the MANY government agencies that CAME DOWN
on the Tea Party group True the Vote solidified my gut feeling!!!! I hope
our side has this under control this election cycle!!!!!

This “Open’ Primary is a disaster. 15 candidates running for governor. This had to be set up to split the vote so bad that the dems could walk away with the votes and put ‘moonbeam’ back in. You would have to spend 6 months ‘trying’ to find out who some of these candidates are and what the they for. Many claim no political connections, like that is great. Heck, I should have filed to run for governor. You just might get elected by accident.

RE: 37

I too believe that there is rampant voter fraud at play. And that is not even including the open suppression of the Military votes.
I understand why the Media and Democrats try to pretend it does not exist (since the fraud favors them). I don't understand why the Republicans don't raise a large alarm on this problem -- other than they really don't care (as, by and large, they are just members of the Large Government Party - as are the Dems).

All that said though ... that, unfortunately, is not the problem in California.
