1,700 vets not on official wait list at Phoenix VA facility, preliminary report finds

A preliminary report released Wednesday found "serious conditions" at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs facility, including hundreds of veterans who were never placed on an official wait list and faulty scheduling practices that meant some veterans would never see a doctor.

"We identified an additional 1,700 veterans who were waiting for a primary care appointment but were not on the [electronic wait list,]" the report from the VA inspector general said. "Most importantly, these veterans were and continue to be at risk of being forgotten or lost in Phoenix [healthcare system's] convoluted scheduling process. As a result, these veterans may never obtain a requested or required clinical appointment."

The IG is currently investigating or is scheduled to investigate 42 VA facilities

Here is the apparent VA process:

1. A patient asks for an appointment with a doctor.
2. The patients name and phone number is listed on a piece of paper and stored in an envelope with the current date written on the outside.
3. Envelopes are stacked in a cabinet with new envelopes at the bottom.
4. Each day the top envelope is removed and the contents entered into the electronic appointment system.
5. 2 weeks later the patient gets to see a doctor.

Average wait time in the Cabinet - Several months.
Average wait time in the electronic system - 2 weeks
Average wait time reported to the MSM and Nancy Pelosi - 2 weeks.

Apparently the VA’s underlying intent was to wait it out as these patients died off, thus shrinking their wait lists.

The filth who permeate this administration should be serving prison time.

I'd be willing to bet cash money that the criteria for appointments exactly matches how dealerships were closed back during the GM bailout.

And TARP fund and porkulus distribution.

I believe the administrators at the VA have the attitude that as long as the lawn is mowed and the chairs in their office are comfortable (and they get their bonuses), things are OK. How can these degenerates live with themselves when the let the Veterans blow in the wind until they die. Arrest these criminals.

I wonder if the real reason Obama is “mad” is because he is worried that smart people will put two and two together and realize that Obamcare is just like the VA or it will be when it becomes single payer.

7 RINOS voted to gut PENSIONS for Military. TN lamar alexander is up for re-election in Nov.

TN State Rep Joe Carr is a conservative running against him.

The VA executives are like little children who put their hands over their eyes and scream “I can’t see you! I can’t see you!”

FED UP to the gills. I don’t know what Carr’s chances are against the money bags lamar who broke his 2 term and out promise, votes more like a Dem than a R. But Carr has gotten what I can give, and my vote in the Primary. Election, I do a write in, as lamar is NOT acceptable.

State Rep Joe Carr has a very strong state conservative voting record. Pro life, pro country, pro 2nd A. Tea Party approved.

corker is not up until 2016.

The way TN primaries are when 2 conservatives run against a moderate same party, the moderate wins. The behind in the poles conservative will not back out and throw the votes to the leading conservative for a win. Thus we got corker and gov halsam. LT Gov Ramsey should have been our Gov. But the other I can’t even remember his name, well behind in polling, pulled enough votes away from Ramsey that we ended up with the Moderate RINO halsam. Happens every GOP primary.
