I kept reading stories like this here in Florida and knew we were all being played with the honeybee devastation hype.

Honey became pricier, and as a result more people kept bees. World bee mortality plunged.
The market is not a cure for everything but it helps a lot of situations.

As life depends on them, I don’t think it hurts to be a little concerned about the health of bees.

100,000 bees found in South Florida homeAh, that is where all the disappeared bees moved to... South Florida must be some kind of witness protection plan for the bee world.

It looks like bees are tougher little critters, in the long term, than we might fear.

I’m in the Ohio Valley, and all of our local hives were wiped out.

Around here the bigger problem this year was the lack of flowers on the fruit trees which means no fruit.

I’d say that there’s quite a bit of difference between being “a little concerned” and being “rabidly panicked over an impending worldwide apocalypse sure to cause massive starvation”, no?

No it doesn't. It may depend on pollinators but they don't have to be honeybees. There were no honeybees in the western hemisphere until they were brought here by Europeans.

I lost my two hives this winter....harsh winter + the early warm up week then back to -10 F doomed them. HIve beetles were in the hive too.....Looks like the Coumaphos should have been left in longer.
