Bethlehem, West Bank (CNN) -- Pope Francis extended an invitation Sunday to the leaders of Israel and the Palestinian Authority to travel to the Vatican for a "peace initiative," after earlier calling for a two-state solution to the intractable conflict.

How are the muslims gonna feel about a man that kissed the hand of a homosexual?
Yep I just heard what the pope wants to do and I said “Ok the chess pieces are coming together. BE PREPARED”
If Netanyahu has any sense, he will tell Frank to KMA.
sorry but this pope is looking more and more like a dolt
Dearest Prime Minister Bibi has plenty of sense and unless he is the one making the decisions and doing the talking and negotiations, then forget about it all.
Simon Perez is not qualified to represent Israel’s best interests IMHO, and we already know that the so-called “palestinians” do not want peace. They want the destruction of Israel. Some of their people might want to live in peace, but their leaders want all Jews GONE, one way or another and that goes for Christians too, particularly Roman Catholics. Pope Francis should know that much.
I wonder when the Pontiff has Abbas praying with Shimone Peres for peace, if he is aware of what Abbas was doing in 1972?
Abbas was planing and financing the Munich Massacre.
I wonder when Abbas is alone with the Pope if he will confess to paying hundred of murderers bonuses for killing Israelis in their homes. Abbas is now embracing the terrorist group Hamas, that is the man the Pope thinks is capable of peace.
According to this CNN article, the evil, murderous Mahmoud Abbas has already accepted “this Pope’s” invitation to the Vatican, no less!
I just can’t get my head around that very idea.
Like you, I am questioning precisely the extent of “this Pope’s” knowledge of Mahmoud Abbas’ background his side’s earnest pursuit of peace. Sheeesh.
Given that I am RC, I guess I’ve said enough.
I don’t understand why they have to go to the Vatican to pray either.
Gee Pope, your in the Holy land. Where Jesus walked, where the Dome of the Rock and Kotel Temple are right next to eachother. Why not spend a day praying a few minutes at each religions holiest places. They may not be ornate like the Pope’s place, but where in the world would you seek God’s blessing for peace that is better than Jerusalem.
And just think of the savings in hydrocarbons used flying a jumbo jet.
The very thought of that murderous monster in the Vatican.....
Reading the press accounts on Monday, I see that the visit is being described as “symbolic.” My a$$.
