I added mine to the list a while back.

...d@mn bean counters...it's all about the dollars.

If it were a foreign brand you can bet they would have been hung out to dry long ago by the manipulate market share to benefit dem campaign union cash/friends-of-crony-capitalists fed's.

Not totally understanding how the ignition switch can go to “lock” position in gear. My Buick has to be in “Park” before the key will turn to “lock”;unless that is the defect they’re talking about.

It doesn’t move to lock, only to the off position which causes loss of power steering, brakes and disables airbags.

That seems especially bad , it’s an area that will trap dirt and collect moisture ,, rust is guaranteed there , especially in areas with road salt.

I had previously bought a mid-90’s GM from Michigan when it was about 10 years old,,, the rear brake line rusted and popped on it too.. I cut a non rusted section of brake line a foot forward of the break and used a LARGE pair of vice grips to roll/fold/crimp up the line to get it home...

"Because of the flawed ignition, key rings holding more than one key could cause the ignition to suddenly switch to the off position. That can lead to a loss of power -- locking the steering wheel and interrupting airbags from deploying in an accident."

I'm not sure how the steering week "locks", but I take it at face value. It's hard to control a moving vehicle if you can't steer.

I never carry anything on my ignition key. It is a pain, but I know the strain on the ignition switch is real. Cost me over $130 to have it fixed years ago.

Same here - ignition key is separate from rest of them. Keeps the danglers from bumping my knee and allows me to keep all the rest locked in my car when I'm out and about.
