His voice cracking with emotion, Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice acknowledged Friday that he failed miserably and apologized for the actions that led to his arrest on assault charges.
Rice was arrested following a Feb. 15 altercation in Atlantic City, in which he allegedly struck fiancee Janay Palmer. The couple married in late February, and both went to the stage at the team training complex for their first public comment since the arrest.
I failed miserably, but I wouldnt call myself a failure because Im working my way back up, Rice said.
Rice was accepted Tuesday into a diversion program, which upon completion could lead to the charges being expunged.
Owner says stupid crap (not a crime) in a private conversation, is banned for life.
Professional sports in America and their media enablers are complete hypocrites.
Hu knew.
This guy beats the tar out of his girlfriend, and crickets.
He's obviously already beaten the charge - he'll plead down or she won't file charges. All that's left is image rehabilitation to minimize any games/salary lost.
The National Felon League.
Shoot. After giving refuge to Ray Lewes for years, a player who was involved in a murder, coddling this sack of trash this is small ball.
He was arrested on March 2, 1994,[11] and after a March 17 mistrial,[12] a grand jury indicted Aikens on four charges of crack cocaine distribution in violation of 21 U.S.C on March 25.[13]
Aikens served his prison sentence in a United States Penitentiary located in Atlanta, Georgia, and was scheduled to be released in 2012. He was released on June 4, 2008, three months after congress approved new guidelines in the federal drug laws and made them retroactive.
On February 1, 2011, the Royals announced that they had hired Aikens as a minor league coach who will be based at the franchise's complex at Surprise, Arizona.
Meanwhile, Pete Rose is banned for life and can't attend retirement ceremonies without approval by MLB.
I also noticed the nfl honored suspected murderer marvin harrison at the draft. There he was up at the podium smiling, shaking hands with the commissioner, and announcing the colt’s draft pick.
That good ole thug culture. Crime is cool and we all know that the n word flies out of their mouths every minute. as long as it is their own. Let whitey say one word and he is done. This is the wat happens when we live in a upsidedown politically correct world.
May have won the Heisman even?
The soft bigotry of lowered expectations...
