We conservatives have a remarkable opportunity here to forge an alliance with the black community....at least a good chunk of it.

Pandering to Blacks is a waste of time.
Unfortunately, all they have to do is see the vicious hatred of blacks — displayed right here on FR — and conclude that conservatives are not anyone they want to be associated with.

Yup. The motives and long term goals of our allies don’t need to be the same for us to work together on a short term goal we do agree with.
Wasted time trying to forge anything with activist blacks; they are on the consummate victim hood bus line, front row to boot. The good Americans who just happen to have dark pigment are doing just fine on their own without alliances and white guilt. Those folks are who the "black community" should be listening to; they could learn A LOT.
