THE Colorado Republican partys nightmare is coming true. Tom Tancredo, unfazed by the three so far ineffectual candidates running against him, is speeding toward victory in the GOP primary race for governor.
Tancredo is a controversial national figure known mostly for his fiery, unswerving position on illegal immigration which he sees as a plague that officeholders on every level of government must address as a top priority. Tancredo is an avuncular character with a hard edge. He is in the moment on the stump and in intreviews, quick with a joke, ready to spin out stories and asides that genuinely entertain his audiences. He routinely mocks political correctness.

The greatest Congressman since Henry Clay.
Mrs. Submareener and I met him when he came to a local Tea Party rally in southern Arizona. A truly great American!
Go Tom Go!
Basically Tom Tancredo rocks. He is just what Colorado needs.
He has been been slimed by the media and more than a few FReepers.
I contributed to his 2008 presidential campaign. I am praying he wins the Governor’s race in CO.
Yes, one of the best.
Tancredo rocks!
go tank! every dime sent is a dime well spent.
Michael Medved calls him Tom Tancrazy.
Michael Medved is the poster boy RINO.
He’s just what Colorado needs if we want to lose a winnable race by nominating a candidate with high negatives.
If we want to win the clear alternative to Tancredo and Bob Beauprez is Sec of State Scott Gessler, the only Republican running that has won a statewide election.
It makes no sense for Gessler to drop out which is what the RINOs are suggesting.
Yes, I saw that, Beazuprez supporters want the field cleared. Given that Beauprez is fairing poorly in general election polling, it makes more sense for HIM to drop out.
Polls show a competitive 3-way primary between Beauprez, Gessler, and Tancredo. A 4th candidate, State Sen. Mike Kopp is non-competitive.
By all means. Lets just give Chickenpooper another term. Cause that’s what will happen if Tancredo wins the nomination. Mike Copp is the real deal.
Tancredo is a former US representative from the 6th District in Colorado so I would say he has the credentials to win a statewide contest. If he had gotten in the race earlier he probably would have won last time around.
