Former Richmond Heights Schools Superintendent Robert Moore wiped a tear from his eyes May 22 before being sentenced to one year in prison on public corruption charges.
I take full responsibility for my actions, the 52-year-old Mentor resident told Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold. I realize I exercised terrible judgment. I deeply regret this incident.
Former Richmond Heights Schools Superintendent Robert J. Moore, right, grimaces as he is sentenced to one year in prison by Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold May 22 for bribery and theft in office. His lawyer, John McCaffrey, is standing next to him.

Co-defendant Richard Muse, the districts 43-year-old former director of buildings and grounds, then was sentenced to 10 months in prison for his role.
First all these “education” majors (cough cough) want to get sent to the rich kids’ schools to teach, then they steal or are resentful of the kids and their families.
His taking responsibility for his actions. My first thought was he can’t be a democrat. : )

If all the so-called "public servants" who SHOULD be in jail were sent, we'd have to build a bunch more prisons.
The amazing thing is the morons who supported this crook in front of the judge.
Maybe it is my strong sense of right and wrong (or a better sense for survival) but I simply cannot understand why anyone would risk everything for a few extra dollars.
He is 57, almost ready to retire, instead he is a convicted felon, and will spend a year in a very bad place. Was the money worth it?
It would not be for me. Of course in the world we live in today this does not mean he will not get his pension and if he wanted it, another job in education.
"Moore, who is also pastor of Cathedral Worship Center in Cleveland, did not explain what led him to shake down the operator of a day care center who contracted with the school district."
I think we should have tougher sentences for “public servants” who rip us off. They breach the public trust while pontificating about their “sacrifice.” Somehow I think gubmint employees who commit these types of crimes are far worse than simple con artists.
Well at least he didn’t do any kids
Nobody robs banks anymore. The thieves become politicians or government employees.
As I expected, he is Amish. Similar situation in Seattle with “progressive” school superintendent.
