The civilized nations of the West should be helping Eastern Europe end its dependence on Soviet oil and gas.Without that oil and gas the USSR would be just another failed Communist state...like North Korea.The worst thing to have happened to the civilized world in the last 30 years is discovery of oil in the USSR.

Actually, it is the other way around. Before WWI Russian Empire produced 15% of world oil and and as the result USSR was created to strangle Russia.
USSR came into existence owing to Rotshcilds and Rockefeller. I agree, it was the worst thing that happened to the civilized world.
