I went into a bike shop locally to get a flat fixed on my g/sons bike. While waiting I looked around, saw a nice looking new bike for $29.95, didn't know how they could sell them so cheap until I looked again at the price tag, there was no decimel point, the real price was $2995.00 and it wasn't even the most expensive one they had some of them were much more.
(Opinion only) Anybody who pays $3,000 or more for a bicycle, has more money than brains. Unless you're a pro and in it for cash prizes.

The prices (and what you get for it) amaze me, and I was in the business for quite some time.

I have spent the majority of my life on two wheels. Racing and riding, sometimes( much younger) compiling over 12000 miles a year.
Year over year.
A 15000 bike may seem ridiculous, and Treks by the way are not my cup of tea, but riding a super bike, a road bike at 30 mph on a shallow downhill, on top of a big gear is the closest thing to heaven in motion that I have ever experienced.
Keeps me coming back for more.

“more money than brains”...heard that expression a lot at my first job from the old farmer who employed me.
