The word “tr-—er” to me seems to be an attack and hate word, since it refers to guns. It also rhymes with a hateful racial epithet that has yet to be finally extinguished from all speech. It is insensitive to use the word “tr-—er” in public and should not be permitted in an academic environment. It would be better to say something like “the word that cannot be spoken” instead of the hateful and quasi racist term “tr-—er.”
