Christie won't sign it. He'll veto it. He is done in 38 states if he allows it to become law. Although the NJ Assembly and Senate are gerrymandered for permanent Democrat majorities until the sun goes supernova, the Republican districts are also so gerrymandered that they can sustain whatever veto the Governor wants with little fear.
The fat Democrat looking at Drumthwacket for 2017 has no charisma (mistaking gerrymandering for personality), so if Bridgetgate doesn't go nuclear, a sane Republican with some social skills might still win. (Conversely, if the Democrats nominate someone presentable, it might be time to call the moving company.)
