The House impeaches, the Senate removes, and even if the GOP gained majority control of the Senate it wouldn’t matter, as it takes a 2/3rd supermajority to remove.

Actually, the House indicts (however much that process is called "impeachment") and the Senate holds the trial and removes after a vote. Semantics.

That said, you are certainly correct about the 2/3 vote.
