For the most part, Congress is the place where ideas go to die this year. But heres one that aint dead yet: immigration reform.
Are the chances good that something will happen in this midterm election year on the quest to overhaul the nations immigration system? No. But they arent zero, and conversations with officials from both the executive and legislative branches in recent days suggest the chances may have ticked up a bit.

Its also true that the approach Mr. Boehner and his House colleagues want to takeconsidering immigration issues such as border security, guest workers and the legal status of illegal aliens one at a timeisnt the one the Senate took or the one favored by the Obama administration, which prefers a single, comprehensive bill. But administration officials say they can work with Mr. Boehner on his approach as long as its enough to get some piece of legislation from the House into a conference committee with the Senate, where differences can be argued out.

Three reasons:
- GOP Congress Critters are weasels.
- GOP Congress Critters take bribes.
- GOP Congress Critters are STOOOOPID enough to believe the likes of Karl Rove.
The WSJ pimping amnesty as usual.
Can you imagine what will happen to America if amnesty gets passed while we have OPEN BORDERS and a federal government that refuses to build a REAL fence that works ??
You might as well just take down the border.
The GOPe will do what their corporate masters tell them to do.
Two reasons it could PASS...
1) Very aggressive democrats..
2) Very cowardly republicans..

Not before November because the RATs need the issue.
RINOs are convinced that by giving amnesty to illegals who have flaunted our laws for years they will be rewarded by a majority of Hispanic votes, despite every poll telling them that the newly minted citizens will vote overwhelmingly for the Rats. They also think that they can shove amnesty down our throats yet still retain power in the House and possibly win the Senate. For a few more years anyway, until the illegals are registered to vote.
