The hearing is part of Impeachment proceedings against the AG initiated by Rep. Metkalf. The Impeachment was precipitated by the AG’s gross dereliction of duty by publicly refusing to defend the Commonweath’s Defense of Marriage Act against a lawsuit brought by the ACLU becuase she, personally, agrees with the plaintff.

But, but, but Ag Holder notified all State AGs that they no longer were required to defend Laws with which they don’t agree. I mean, he controls the Laws of the Land, doesn’t he? /s
