Two days ago it was reported on Swedish Radio News (link in Swedish only) that the opposition to the government in Kiev was growing. The Maidan is getting restless again, and people are talking about ousting the government with new demonstrations if it doesn't take back the control of eastern Ukraine. One acute reason for the anger is the fact that the parlaiment is taking a long-weekend leave, despite the precarious situation, and the parliamentarians will not be back before 6 May. This may be one of the reasons the anti-separatist operation started this morning.

Ironically, a new putsch may be the best way of avoiding a big war. Even the US and the EU will not be able to support a second "para-democratic" removal of the Ukraine government.
