ISSA SUBPOENAS KERRY TO TESTIFY ON BENGHAZI
Breitbart Big Government ^ | May 2 ,2014 | MATTHEW BOYLE

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa is issuing a subpoena for Secretary of State John Kerry to testify before the committee May 21 about Benghazi, Issa announced Friday.

The move comes in the wake of new, "smoking gun" emails that show top White House officials working to craft a narrative that the attack was the result of a YouTube video and "not a broader failure of policy."

Republicans have expressed outrage that the documents were not provided earlier under subpoenas for them, but instead came out via a Freedom Of Information Request lawsuit by the conservative non-profit group Judicial Watch.

On Thursday, House Speaker John Boehner called on Kerry to testify before the House to explain why the documents weren't provided earlier.

“The House used its subpoena power to obtain documents, including emails, last year, but these emails didn’t show up until now, after a court ordered their release to an outside watchdog group,” Boehner said.

“This defiance of the House’s subpoena power is the most flagrant example yet of the administration's contempt for the American people’s right to know the truth about what happened when four Americans died in a fiery terrorist attack. If the White House won’t explain it, Secretary Kerry should come to the Capitol to explain why he defied an official congressional subpoena. And the White House needs to understand that this investigation will not end until the entire truth is revealed and justice and accountability are served,” Boehner added.

“The email from Ben Rhodes demonstrates the Obama administration from the beginning misled Congress, the media and most importantly, the American people,” Cantor said on Wednesday. “It is increasingly clear that this administration orchestrated an effort to deflect attention away from their failed Libya policy and the resurgence of Al Qaeda and other terrorists.”

I agree. Seems odd to subpoena Kerry since he was not a part of this Administration at the time of the Benghazi attack. Almost seems like the Republicans in Congress are putting on another Kabuki performance for their minions back home.
Not really interested in rooting out the criminal malfeasance (or gross incompetence) of the Executive Branch - but just interested in winning brownie points for the upcoming elections.

Re: 5

I stand corrected regarding my post on 6 -- but I still don't think the Republicans are serious about getting to the root of the matter (the abandonment of our Ambassador, and nearly 30 other Americans - who were saved due to the personal sacrifices of a couple of other Americans who tried to save lives - not knowing that they were going to be left hanging out to dry).

BTW Kerry could have been talking about the USA.

he and his ilk see the USA as two groups. ONE “the do you know who I am” aristocracy and TWO the slave drones.

Leon Panetta, the SecDef at the time, needs to be called in and questioned under oath.

Sadly, Issa will screw it up. “Playing with the big boys” is not something at which that buffoon excels. Wish they’d put someone else in charge.

Wrong person!! He doesn’t know anything.....call Hillary back and put her under oath. Well, an oath doesn’t mean anything to her.

Actually bringing Kerry in front of congress is a good thing. He will of course say that he wasn’t in charge when it happened. The response should be, “so Secretary Kerry, if we understand correctly your predecessor didn’t brief you on what is going on in Benghazi?”

A that point Kerry can either throw Hillary under the bus or throw himself under the bus because it is checkmate. Then go after Obama for not being able to manage his foreign service team, which can now be tied back to Ben Rhodes email suggesting the administrations foreign policy disaster.

Krauthammer’s Take: New Benghazi E-mail Akin to Discovery of Nixon Tapes

NRO May 1, 2014

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxtr9_8yoqI&feature=player_embedded

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It is appalling that President Obama never was in the Situation Room the night of September 11, 2012, as our ambassador to Libya and three other men were being attacked, captured, and eventually killed after being dragged through the streets of Benghazi and tortured in hideous fashion.

Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta, said that he: ‘Could not put forces at risk’ in order to rescue our men who were under Muslim terrorist attack in Benghazi.

An article in the Prague newspaper, Prager Zeitungon hit the bulls-eye:

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their President.”

If Trey Gowdy Chairs the Congress Select Committee to investigate Benghazi, this scandal will prove to be much worse than Watergate.
