Rochelle Sterling: The Clippers’ Cruella de Ville (Now they're going after the wife)
The Daily Beast ^ | May 1, 2014 | Michael Daly

If Mrs. Sterling has any intention of attending more playoff games—much less holding on to the team—she needs to explain her role in her husband’s effort to push out minority tenants.

If Rochelle Sterling wants her family to retain ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers, she better first prove she was not complicit in her husband’s effort to drive black and Latino tenants from the apartment buildings he owns.

As has been widely reported, one of Donald Sterling’s former property supervisors testified in a 2003 housing discrimination suit that when she remarked on an odor at a newly acquired building, her boss responded, “That’s because of all the blacks in this building, they smell, they’re not clean. And it’s because of all of the Mexicans that just sit around and smoke and drink all day.”

The property supervisor, Sumner Davenport, testified that Donald Sterling had then said, “So we have to get them out of here.”

What has not been widely reported is Davenport’s testimony regarding Rochelle Sterling’s unusual role in managing the properties.

“Sumner Davenport declares that when she worked for Sterling she often accompanied Rochelle Sterling on apartment inspections. Rochelle Sterling would regularly pose as a government official in order to gain access to tenants’ apartments, and during the inspections Sterling directed her to record, among other things, tenants’ ethnicity,” noted federal Judge A. Howard Matz.

The defense contended that the information regarding ethnicity was in response to a request by an unnamed FBI agent in the wake of 9/11 that Sterling’s company “make every possible effort to learn whether any tenants in his building are foreign nationals.”

The judge noted the plaintiff’s contention that the true purpose of the bogus “official” inspections Rochelle Sterling conducted was “to harass and intimidate African-American and Latino tenants.”(continued)

There's someone very powerful behind all this. I have no idea who it is, but I know a frame-up job when I see one.

Looking that way, and it is a “take no prisoners” type operation.

The media lynchings are on the rise, thanks to Twitter, etc.

This is why Barry Goldwater voted against the 1964 civil rights act.

If you own the property, you should be able to rent to whomever you want, for whatever reason.

The wife is a bridge too far. She can afford bigtime lawyers. This will backfire spectacularly.

She’s a billionaire. I doubt very much that she personally went into those apartments to do inspections herself. Come on! I agree, this story stinks. (Pun unintended)

Yet this was all well known and the sellouts over at the NAACP were more than willing to give him another lifetime award for a nice little donation, believe me this goes higher than one rouge chapter too, look that up Daily Beast.

"That’s because of all the blacks in this building, they smell, they’re not clean. "

That sounds like something Harry Reid said about Washington DC tourists. He didn't care what color they were, they all stunk the same, those damn stinkin Anmerican citizens who wanted to see the Capitol city of their beloved country. Harry can smell 'em coming down the thoroughfare.

A certain professional athlete turned sports magnate has been the subject of rumors.

To amplify, I was listening to middle-of-the-road talk radio today (Roe and Roeper) and they were pretty much in agreement that if a guy can lose his NBA team over a probably drunken series of comments made in the privacy of his own home, and probably illegally recorded, there’s no hope for the concept of free speech anywhere. And, also, that the NBA itself could well be in for a potentially spectacular amount of trouble. Pop a HUGE amount of corn.

Ah, yes, force her to try to prove a negative. Such a proof is difficult, if not impossible.

Sort of like asking a store employee: Prove that you have never stolen anything from the store.

What does that have to do with the team?

If the case was already settled how can they bring that into
this situation.

Sounds like the government housing in my neighborhood.

I wonder if the wife has part ownership of the team. Community property and all that. So the NBA had better play it safe and take her down too. And if they have any children, they must be discredited as well. I'm sure the kids said hateful things during elementary school recess. Just round up a few witnesses.

LOL!

I don't know how rental property owners can stand it, having their property rights so curtailed.

Remember how they dug up stuff on Romney when he went to school and they said he bullied a kid by cutting his hair?

Sounds like a democratic take down of the highest order to me something right out of the current regimes playbook.

Read tonight in the NY Post that Donald Sterling supposedly has advanced Pancreatic Cancer, so unfortunately with all this going down he might not be living for very much longer
