American Principles Project ^ | 5-1-14 | Maggie Gallagher

Right now most people who believe in the classic understanding of marriage are in shock, they are awed by the powers now shutting down the debate and by our ineffectualness at responding to these developments.

The temptation to shout and yell and stamp our feet in ineffectual ridiculousness is understandable, but it is to be resisted.

The version of America we were born into is no more....

The rapid collapse of opposition to gay marriage we are witnessing did not just happen, and it was not inevitable. But it is....

Hiding or pretending is not going to help us, now. We have to face the truth. And we have to find the Love at its heart.

And we will have to do new things, not simply do what failed, over and over again, harder....

Gov. Jan Brewer’s collapse in Arizona is very important and I don’t mean this as a criticism of her. Here is what happened....

Gay rights advocates decided to prove they could stop legislation like this deep in the heart of the reddest of all red states. And they won.

First they defined the bill as an antigay pro-discrimination measure. Then they got credible GOP leaders to validate this framing--John McCain and Mitt Romney....

Here’s the truth: Two percent of the American population, worked a cultural revolution. Hats off to them.

We have the resources to survive, and if we survive, to eventually flourish.

Will we?

Will we face the truth, act in love, and do new things?...

People will lose their jobs if they believe in things the establishment doesn’t want them to believe.

I wouldn’t say there is less opposition than there ever was to gay marriage. People have bills to pay, businesses to run, and families to feed. Al Queerda has made sure that if you speak out you will be targeted for destruction. Not boycotted, not debated, destroyed. They want your business destroyed. They want your profession destroyed. They want your family destroyed. That’s a lot to ask for people to stand against it and not many people are willing to take the Al Queerda suicide blast.

The battle against homosexualism was lost way back in time.

Back when the radical ultra-leftists moved from blowing up government buildings and killing policemen to becoming politicians, teachers, professors, and school administrators.

People have bills to pay, businesses to run, and families to feed.

That's true now, was true last year, was true two years ago, etc. Thus, it cancels out when evaluating the trend line.

“The battle against homosexualism was lost way back in time.”

It was lost when gay or gay sympathetic members of the Psychological community made the absurd decision that homosexuality was “normal”. That was the leverage they needed to turn the world upside down.

So true it deserves to be said again.

Actually there is much worse to come which creates an opportunity for a reset. So there is a lesbian trouplet expecting a baby in MA(If I remember correctly) So now that no limits are really imposed on marriage I think I’ll marry my SO, my cat, my house, my car, all of my SO’s girlfriends, my parents beach house, the moon etc. Since marriage is no longer a covenant between 1m and 1w, it no longer has a meaning or relevance from a legal perspective. Interestingly this is not necessarily a bad thing. Getting the Gov out of taxing traditionally married couples and the divorce industry would reduce lawyer profits and IRS revenues or force “non traditional systems” to pay up. Hell writing off a sail boat as my betrothed means that hole in the water that you throw money in might save you some cash. And since you can share her with you buds, hell everyone can benefit.

Now the problem

Since you can’t discriminate tell me how pedophiles and muslims can be prevented from marrying who ever they can purchase.

Gallagher raises interesting questions about how conservatives can adapt to the new political realities.

Gallagher is an idiot. When political realities become over burdensome you do not adapt, you rebel. Rebellion creates new political realities, that's what the American Revolution was all about.

Subsidizing homosexual sex practitioners with social benefits is subsidizing self destruction & failure. Society had a rational reason for supporting & promoting marriage BEFORE government decided to help out and the rationale had nothinbg to do with promoting love & fairness. Government has never been in the business of promoting emotions & feelings. Plain & simple society recognized procreation & child rearing as fundamentally that which contributes to the basic building block of society - FAMILIES!

Real families, NOT people choose to get their sexual gratification in perverse & disordered sexual activity.

Women & children still board lifeboats first when a ship is sinking for a reason! In the future IF Earth is ever evacuated to avoid a catastrophe that could end the Human Race I can be sure that it will not be homosexual perverts that will be relied upon to establish a foothold of human beings on a another planet!
