Clayton was a poster child for capital punishment. However, lethal injection has always had problems now further complicated by the lack of appropriate drugs. Britain’s long serving hangman, Albert Pierrepoint, prided himself on being able to carry out a hanging in 30 seconds without any undue suffering by the condemned. Maybe it’s time we returned to the gallows.
I’d further suggest the gallows at 1pm Saturdays, in a public squares, and televised.
