Cuomo later said the accident and other recent derailments are "a startling pattern that underscores the need for action."

Duh..Tell your boss to build the pipeline.

Second that. Every pipeline that is built, is one less potential for a derailment and vast water/ground “pollution” with various forms of petroleum, either as crude or refined product.

Pipelines should be crisscrossing this country everywhere, including into the far northeast of the US, with emphasis on natural gas pipelines. Natural gas should be available at every residential and industrial development across the US, if only to provide a back-up in the event the electric grid fails. Natural-gas generators can provide on-the-spot power generation at very short notice.

One day (Heaven forbid) an oil carrying train will derail in the wrong place and the resulting disaster will count the dead and injured in the hundreds.
The following day, the media NOT demand to know why the vastly safer pipeline was either built or at least begun.
They also may or may not fully cover the disaster.
When the pipeline is finally begun, the ENVIRONMENTAL radicals will lie in its path to prevent the desecration of the pristine countryside.
