Hawaii's personal income tax system consists of twelve brackets and a top rate of 11%. That rate ranks 2nd highest among states levying an individual income tax. Hawaii's state and local income tax collections per person were $1127 in 2012 which ranked 10th highest nationally.

You’re telling me? Hawaii is well known as tax hell.

Also there is a sales tax and a general excise tax on services. Property tax too, of course.
