Sen. Ron Johnson’s lawsuit challenging the legality of federal contributions to the health care plans of members of Congress and congressional staffers has a new ally: the Republican National Committee.

“Senator Ron Johnson is suing the Obama Administration for exempting Democrat Members of Congress from the ObamaCare law,” the RNC petition said. “It’s unfair to make American citizens live under a law that politicians are exempt from.”

The RNC solicited support for the petition Sunday on Twitter, along with a graphic:

not a fan of the RNC by any means…in fact, a big critic of them - but this is good move.

This is not enough. Fairness of democratcare should be a central plank of the GOP message. Why do we never hear about the Vitter amendment anymore? Instead we get a “it can’t be repealed” surrender march from GOP leadership.

I didn’t say it was enough…..I said it was a good move……and it is a good move, and no, it is not enough.

for exempting Democrat Members

Really? There is some rule that applies only to Dems?

I hadn't heard that - I thought all CongressCritters were exempted.

Weird that the people who voted for it are exempt, and the ones who didn't aren't.

This is so far below the radar it is really a nothing move. Now put the Vitter amendment as a central plank of the GOP platform and watch the Dems go ballistic again. THAT will make news. This we will never hear about again.

Well, maybe that will happen. You are just illogical to assume a position of mutual exclusivity - and you are judging this in a vacuum as if it’s the only thing they will do on this issue. That may prove to be the case, but to assume that now is to borrow unhappiness…...
