Heck, it’s worse than that...

If the IRS cashes your check that is not proof of payment....

I am appalled that the law does not require that delinquent tax notices must be sent by return receipt requested mail. How does the judge know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the lady received the notices using first class mail?

What happened to her protection against excessive, cruel or unusual punishment? Seizing a quarter million dollar home over a six dollar debt seems to be very excessive punishment to me.

The People do not own anything anymore, no matter how rich a person is. At any time the government can take anything you own for whatever excuse they want. When I was insane enough to live in New York city, they stole my car right off the street because I had $300 in unpaid parking tickets which I had no idea I even got. I actually had to go and file a report of a stolen car after which the police told me the city impounded it for unpaid parking tickets (parking tickets which is another scam in itself)..Short story, for doing absolutely nothing they held my car hostage for $1000 bucks, that was the bottom line. If I didn’t pay they would have auctioned it off. Same thing with property taxes. People think they own their homes? No they do not. If you don’t pay off bribe money posing as taxes to the government, guess what they do? They take your house! Nobody owns anything in this country. The Government is constantly at war with the people, shaking them down and threatening them. And liberals want more of this crap? Now the good old government punishes us merely for existing. If you dont buy Obamacare you get punished.

We purchased a home recently and have now received pounds of mail for “process your deed” and “challenge property taxes” and forms that look like real property tax bills until you read the fine print.
It can be hard to determine what is legitimate and what isn’t. A notice for a $6 fee would likely get tossed as junk.

Yea try that with the goverment. .yea I send it ..it didn't get returned so you got it..

IN FACT It should be the same standard for both..they say they mail the bill, you say you mailed the check..

They say they need no proof you received the bill ..you say you need no proof they received the check..

If I need to sent it registering letter with signed received mail back to me as proof I sent the check..they need the same for proof on the bill.

Its all about assumption.. if your to be assumed innocent in a crime ..and crimes are charged by the government. Its the government that has a higher burden of proof..it there for a reason..it should be that way with all government vs citizen legal interactions.. but this is being treated like a civil case..he said vs he said..but the government is not a person it has a conflict of interest because it is the law..goverment must be held to the higher burden of proof.

Did he legalize gay marriage while he was at it? Judges really need to show people who’s boss.

Exactly! So what we find is that there wasn’t one gentleman amongst the many people who saw this thing traveling through the process.

Simply amazing...

An any judge that would agree with this under any circumstances, should be removed from the bench.

Could harry reid be involved, sounds like something he would be involved in to line his pockets wit money.

If it’s shady, slimy or crooked look for reid under some rock nearby.

Ah! you don’t mess with the all powerful State. It controls us from birth to death. It feels that it has a right to go into your pockets and take what you earned. It resents your right to private property.

I heard that in Pennsylvania, and some other states, there are elected judges who are not even lawyers. They can be local political hacks with connections.

“The county never wants to see anybody lose their home, but at the same time the tax sale law, the tax real estate law, doesn’t give a whole lot of room for error, either,” Askar said.........

If memory serves me right, she has a time window to appeal the decision (not sure how long). If she had been the original owner of the property and the only owner of the property she SHOULD BE entitled to “Homestead” money or anything greater than the tax money she owed but had not yet paid.

Keep in mind this was not about taxes. It was about $6.30 in INTEREST.

What I don’t understand is how one person was allowed to buy this house for $6.30. Wasn’t there a public sale?

Bingo. This stinks of corruption and someone wanting that house/property for less. I feel very sorry for her.
