I wasn’t yelling. merely pointing out the lack of substantiation.
In a nutshell, this is symbiotic of one of the greatest liberties this country has: preservation of states’ rights.
As long as states maintain the rights reserved for them under the Constitution, then a move like this benefits the country. Why? Because a state that becomes an overbearing-stifling state that preys on its most productive citizens, will have those productive companies and individuals leave for better pastures.
In time, the voters of the state seeing their tax base leave will throw out the govt leaders who caused their standard of living to be reduced.
This should always be supported as it improves each state.
Once the feds are the source of all this like taxation, benefits, etc, then people and companies in one state have zero benefit to move to another state to improve themselves. The feds and libs win.
The Confederacy had the founders’s intentions right: The best defense against an onerous central govt is to make it be responsible for as little as possible
That can lead to the ever popular whining about "the lack of Southern hospitality I thought the South was famous for" and you have the conversation on the right track.
When the canard about hospitality drools down their chin you simply point out that helping them to understand Southern hospitality is exactly what required you to explain that a guest shouldn't complain about their host should wait until they're no longer enjoying the hospitality of the host to do so. You were just helping them learn the rules of hospitality so they won't make a fool of themself again. A very considerate thing for you to do, no?
Such folks are beyond the gentle, "now don't be ugly" chiding someone who notices a fine crack in a china cup receives. They need to have it pointed out to them that they weren't actually invited, they're just being tolerated.
Regards
I have no idea what you are trying to say, but that’s ok.
I'll bet that most native Texans can write in cursive though.
“An employee making $100k will find..after NO state incomes taxes, and MUCH lower housing costs..its like getting a 25% RAISE..”
And feel guilty about it.
And want to raise the quality of the local schools.
And want much much more in services, probably being in an IT job where they do not see too many unwashed.
And the next thing you know, they are signing petitions to get increased tax assessments on the ballot.
You’ll see it, mark my words.
Every little bit of exercise that weak muscle gets will help you build it into something other than watered down oatmeal.
I do hope you have a lovely day now, ya' hear?
It’s likely that a good number of the Toyota California employees that move to Texas will be able to pay cash for their new Texas home after they sell their overpriced California houses to some suckers staying in the “Golden” state.
Most will be VERY happy after they settle in to their new homes in Texas. I just hope only a small minority will bring their California “progressive” political beliefs with them.
The later other companies are to follow Toyota’s lead on exiting California, the less well off the employees will be (as, gradually, there will be fewer and fewer people wanting to pay astronomical prices for the overpriced California homes).
PLANO, TEXAS (where Toyota is moving) has been ranked by Forbes as America’s SAFEST CITY.
See here:
http://www.forbes.com/pictures/egim45edhe/1-plano-texas/
It says:
The affluent Dallas suburb has a median household income of $79,234, 60% above the national average; a police force made up of college graduates; and a strong community watch program.
You got it. 4500 more dem votes.
When Nissan relocated to Tennessee less than half of the employees relocated. The same will be for the Toyota employees.
I hope you're right for the sake of folks in Texas. Too often people who flee places they've helped destroy with lefty politics seem intent on destroying the places they flee to.
A welcome wagon program for those types should include a request that they not support the kinds of policies that made it necessary for them to flee. The one who vote RAT out of habit might get their eyes opened.
That’s OK. We just want the jobs, not necessarily the people currently in them. ;-)
Respectfully, the people employed there actually . . . WORK !
I am sure they will become good Texans. Trust me on this one, thanks :)
This might serve as an antidote to your concerns:
Now if Boeing had moved their headquarters to Texas...
I've never heard of a corporate move where the whole staff pulls up stumps and moves with it. Most of them are mid and lower level administrative people who can find jobs in California. I doubt more than 30 or 40 percent will make the move.
Take’em out to the old J.R. Ewing place. Show’em what a Texas slum looks like. There’s room to breathe in Texas and it’s still affordable to the middle class.
