Noemi Álvarez Quillay took the first steps of the 6,500-mile journey to New York City from the southern highlands of Ecuador on Tuesday, Feb. 4, after darkness fell.

Maybe child endangerment charges would be more fitting....?
No.
The purpose of the story is that we all should admit complicity in the death of this child.
We must accept the obligation to make is safe for all illegals of all ages from everywhere, to make it to the U.S.
Just because.
Of course, I don't buy the guilt trip gift, but it is a common offer.
You have that right. What a bunch of propaganda.
the parents should be charged with child endangerment leading to manslaughter. If they were willing to pay 15-25K, to hire a coyote, they had the money to make the journey themselves. Both the parents have cash jobs but according to the grandparents, who never should have let the child go, the children received a 't-shirt' 'a $100' here and there. This is child neglect. Sending a child with a coyote is child abuse. And it's ultimately murder. For the parents to say, "it's over...we want to move on" like ThEy are the victims !!!, just floors me beyond words. Throw them in jail where they belong.
My take too...
