That is a fair statement.
Truth hurts sometimes, and that pain is usually put to some good use in that it changes behavior, but since we cannot acknowledge that ugly truth in this PC world, that pain is never felt and there is no change for the better.
You could even say in denying the truth they are being enslaved by their denial of their own bad behavior.

Anyone who lives in and around that city who relies on Law Enforcement for their safety is delusional.
Nothing short of a 12guage at home and a .45 on the streets will bring any degree of safety.
